Arundale has an average of 110 pupils. Arundale prepares pupils for a wide range of schools, particularly those accepting Common Entrance and Scholarship candidates. The classes are small and a great deal of emphasis is placed on ensuring that all the children receive a thorough grounding in the basic subjects. However, a wide range of other activities is provided and children are encouraged to learn a musical instrument e.g. piano, flute, clarinet, recorder, cello and violin. The children participate in Speech & Drama examinations and local festivals, and they join in all kinds of Physical Education such as judo, swimming, netball, rounders, tennis, gymnastics and athletics. We are very concerned about each individual's progress and welfare, and the attitude 'Treat others as you would like to be treated' is our aim.
Children are taken to the theatre and visiting theatre groups are invited to the School.
There is a House system and children are encouraged to compete against each other, praising the skills of others. Everyone receives encouragement for what they are able to achieve and no-one is allowed to feel that their contribution is unimportant.
The staff are friendly and very approachable, working as a team in all School ventures.
